Our Vision & Work
Vision & Co-Creation
Africa’s food future is at a breaking point: hunger, biodiversity loss, climate shocks, and neglect of indigenous crops threaten resilience. AGRIIP’s vision is bold: to safeguard Africa’s agricultural heritage while creating new opportunities for farmers and scientists. Our approach is co-creation: farmers and scientists working side by side to design innovations rooted in tradition, informed by culture, and scaled for impact.
What We Do

Farmer Education, Engagement & Co-Learning
We work side by side with 10 million farmers, delivering high-quality training, participatory research, and hands-on workshops that amplify their voices and shape innovation. Farmers are not beneficiaries to us. They are partners and co-creators in building resilient food systems.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fellowship
Our Fellowship empowers 10,000 African scientists with the tools, networks, and mindset to co-create solutions with farmers. Together, we nurture sustainable ventures and turn ideas into impact.

Roots of Resilience: Heritage in Practice
We centre 30 indigenous crops in our work, elevating their heritage, enhancing their resilience, and designing value chains so they become engines of nutrition, livelihoods, and identity.
From Vision to Impact
Our work is split across six interconnected departments, turning one bold vision into action:
Program Strategy & Delivery –provides the backbone of coherence, accountability, and equity, ensuring every action aligns with our 10-year goals
Fellowship & Innovation – equips 10,000 African scientists with entrepreneurial training, mentorship, and innovation bootcamps to co-create ventures with farmers.
Country Operations & Field Coordination – anchors AGRIIP in local realities by working directly with farmers and research partners in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and beyond.
People, Culture & Storytelling – amplifies the voices of farmers and fellows globally through art, films, podcasts, and exhibitions.
Roots of Resilience Summits: Annual convenings blending science, policy, and heritage, showcasing innovation and culture.
Fundraising & Partnerships – convenes diverse stakeholders annually to showcase farmer-led innovations, indigenous knowledge, and cultural heritage.
